Dennis Stroughmatt - LA BELLE BLONDINE

FRENCH CREOLE FIDDLE TUNES & BALLADS FROM OLD UPPER LOUISIANA, VOLUME III... For the French settlers of La Louisiane, the Louisiana Purchase was a change that would erase the upper region's original imprint almost entirely. Trying to unearth their experiences through song in what this collection attempts to accomplish. Of all the volumes, this one contains the most relics and entices the listener to understand the folk life of 18th century Midwestern French America.
The Carriere Bros. & the Lawtell Playboys - LA LA LOUISIANA BLACK FRENCH MUSIC

The black French country dance music on this record flows from the convergent streams of Cajun, Afro-Caribbean & Afro-American music. It is simply called "Zydeco" or "La La" by the people who play and dance to it. Presenting the lively rural Louisiana French Creole tradition of home and club music, this recording brings together two families, three generations and many friends. A 1977 release, this album hasn't been available for quite some time. We are proud to bring it back to life as part of our ValueDisc Encore series.
