Joseph "Big Red" Arline grew up in Hillister, Texas where like many musical performers, church was the place he discorvered how much music inspired him. He noticed how music had a profound, often spiritual, impact on some and he realized how he gained satisfaction from seeing folks fulfilled by his music. Red became interested in blues first, which eventually led him to Zydeco, specifically southwest Louisiana/southeast Texas Zydeco. Zydeco gave him the space he needed to develop his own style and express himself as a writer and singer to the fullest. This is Big Red's first officially released project and Maison de Soul Records is pleased to have the opportunity to work with such a driven, positive, and energetic performer with a wonderful attitude about life and his music!
