50s and 60s recording artist, Jivin' Gene Bourgeois had several recordings in the top 100 charts in the early 60s. "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," "Going Out with the Tide," "Release Me," and "Go On Go On" are just a few. He has appeared on national TV shows and toured throughout the country with many well known singers and bands. Gene was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame in 1993, the Museum of the Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Louisiana Hall of Fame Living Legend Award on June 1st, 2003. It's hard to believe that he's never had a full-length album released before now, but as the title track states, "It's Never too Late!" Released in September 2009, 14 tracks, including:

Living it again with Jivin' Gene

I grew up listening to the velvet voice of Gene Bourgeois and am elated that he has released this CD.  Not only is Gene talented but one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.  This collection of 50's rock with a Memphis Blues flair will leave you wanting more.  Thanks for the memories Gene.

It's Never Too Late

Young tadpoles want to hear about battle and that they've won.  Old guys like us have won & lost a few and want to find peace (present perfect tense) 'cause our time is running out...  I like parts of all the songs because they come from a old warrior -- make us winners (or losers) again...
I still listen to your earlier tunes everyday because I lost a battle --  You're "The Jivin' Gene", I've been waiting for the ballad that says I win!
You stopped being Eugene in the '50s!  You're Jivin' Gene for the rest of our lives!

It's Never Too Late

I have known Gene for 58 years and have heard most of these songs over the years.He is the greatest!!!I can never hear enough.I think his voice is as good as when he was a teen.
